Chip Scarborough Career

In January 2024, Scarborough joined the 40/29 News staff and assumed the positions of weeknight reporter and weekend evening anchor. After nine years as a reporter and occasional stand-in anchor at Hearst Television’s WVTM in Birmingham, Alabama, Scarborough moves to Northwest Arkansas. Scarborough documented severe weather events extensively while he was living in Central Alabama. He not only covered important local news but also helped the Alabama Crimson Tide football team win many National Championships.

Before moving to Birmingham, Scarborough worked for four years as a weeknight reporter and weekend evening anchor at WTOK-TV in Meridian, Mississippi. He provided coverage of the catastrophic tornado outbreak that struck on April 27, 2011. Scarborough graduated from the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism & Mass Communication with a degree in broadcast news. In his free time, Scarborough likes to travel, see family in Georgia, go on walks and hikes, and binge-watch his favorite TV shows, like “Will Trent” on ABC. He is looking forward to getting to know the residents of the River Valley and Northwest Arkansas.
