Robert De Niro is an American thespian, film producer, and director who is considered to be one of the most influential people in his generation. De Niro has received various awards and nominations, including a Golden Globe Award, the Cecil B. Demille Award, two Academy Awards, and a Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award. Additionally, in 2009, he earned a Presidential Medal of Freedom from Barack Obama, the 44th president of the U.S., and the Kennedy Center Honor.

Two of his most famous movies that gave him the big break were ”Bang the Drum Slowly, in which he played the role of a baseball catcher. The other one was ”Mean Streets” playing the role of a street thug. In the movie ” The Godfather Part 2 “, he had to learn how to speak Italian for his role. He was awarded Best Actor at the Academy Awards for this movie in 1974. Again, he was awarded Best Actor by the Academy for his role in ” Raging Bull” in 1980.
