David DeGuzman WFXR

In July 2018, DeGuzman joined the WFXR sports staff, taking on the position of reporter and weekend sports anchor. DeGuzman, who is originally from New York City, has been thinking of Virginia as his second home since 2014. His career path took him north on Interstate 81 to the ABC affiliate in Harrisonburg, Virginia, WHSV-TV, where he worked for four years as the sports director. DeGuzman covered important events while he was living in the Shenandoah Valley, including the James Madison football team’s successful run for an FCS national championship in 2016 and their subsequent appearance in the championship game the following year.

His on-air career began in Wausau, Wisconsin, where he covered high school sports in the area as well as the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers. In the summer of 2016, DeGuzman worked as a Production Associate for the Games of the XXXI Olympiad in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Having served in the same capacity at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi and interned at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, this was his third experience with the Olympic Games.
