She started her career as a reporter, anchor, producer, editor, weather forecaster, and more in Casper, Wyoming. After that, it was off to report and forecast the weather in Fresno, California.

Lehnert began working as a reporter, anchor, and weather forecaster at KTWO-Casper, WY in 2013. She stayed in that role for three years before leaving to work at KPTM-Omaha, NE in 2016. Lehnert began working as a weather forecaster at KPTM-Omaha, NE in 2016 and did so for two years. She worked for KMPH in Fresno, California as well. In 2018, Alex left KPTM-Omaha to work as a weather reporter and forecaster at KMSP-Minneapolis, MN.

Lehnert was selected Employee of the Year while she was employed in Fresno and has won accolades for her work on articles. She enjoys spending as much time as possible outside when the weather permits during her free time. She enjoys cross-country skiing, hiking, paddle boarding, and camping with her dog, Fin. Lehnert works as a volunteer with Hyland’s Courage Kenny Ski program in the winter. She also plays about in the kitchen, painting and experimenting quite a bit.
