Larry Emdur presently hosts The Chase Australia and co-hosts The Morning Show with Kylie Gillies.  The couple also served as hosts of the Celebrity Splash! Australian edition. From 1993 to 1998, from 2003 to 2005 on the Nine Network, and again on May 7, 2012, when the show moved back to the Seven Network, he presided over the Australian edition of The Price Is Right. Later that year, the show was canceled.

Emdur is well-known to Australian viewers for his role as a host on various other game shows, such as Wheel of Fortune and Cash Bonanza (Nine Network) (Seven Network). Emdur served as the show’s host five times: once in 1994, twice in 1998, and twice consecutively in 1999. He also served as It Takes Two’s stand-in host once in 2006 and once more in 2007. On Network Ten, he also served as the host of Celebrity Dog School.

Larry, who grew up in Bondi, New South Wales, close to the beach, became very interested in surfing at a young age. Emdur, who quit school at age 15, started working for The Sydney Morning Herald as a copyboy before switching to television, when at age 19, he broke the record for the youngest national newsreader in Australia by delivering the overnight report for Seven Network. He transitioned to hosting game shows and amusement television after working in news and current affairs for a while as a reporter, newsreader, and presenter on Good Morning Australia.

On the family program Hey Hey It’s Saturday, Emdur stepped in for Daryl Somers. Emdur joined the Seven Network’s Wheel of Fortune after being “rested” by the Nine Network after The Price Is Right was canceled.
