After relocating to Los Angeles in 2014, Cristi has been able to report breaking news while taking in an aerial view of Southern California. His reporting has covered everything from traffic and weather to wildfires, numerous police pursuits, and the 2015 San Bernardino terrorist attack. He was honored with a Golden Mike Award from the Radio and Television News Association for his live reporting during the 2016 Cajon Pass brush fire, which shut down a large portion of the freeway.

His coverage of the tragic Space Shuttle Columbia disaster in 2003 led to him beginning his career as a helicopter reporter at the FOX affiliate in Orlando, and then Miami’s WSVN.

In addition, he flew on special assignment for CBS News in 2005 during Hurricane Rita’s devastation of the Texas coastline, documenting the disaster as an aerial photojournalist. Cristi has interviewed newsmakers and celebrities all over the world for a variety of entertainment publications, such as Us Weekly, InTouch Weekly, and Life & Style magazine.

He also worked for a number of years as a reporter for WNYW, FOX 5, in New York City, covering major events like the 2005 MTA subway strike and the US Airways flight 1549 “Miracle on the Hudson” before relocating to Los Angeles.
